As soon as you cross the threshold of the Tabacchificio Hotel, you are greeted by the cool rooms with the ancient star vaults, a few steps and you enter the garden with swimming pool, equipped with some sunbeds and umbrellas. Furthermore, the landladies, the sisters Paola and Antonella Pellegrino, with their staff, are happy to organize boat trips, recommend the most beautiful beaches and seaside locations, book or recommend evenings and special events in all of Salento, always dedicated to a no-problem holiday.
After a day at the beach or discovering the historic beauties of Salento it's engaging to stay in a room that tells the story of a place. For this reason each room is named after a place in Salento that is illustrated by a an author’s photo and in its furnishings are declined the tones and colours already present in the old tobacco factory. From single rooms to large studios with lounge and outdoor space, from romantic deluxe rooms for two to comfortable rooms for 4 guests, the Tabacchificio is truly a hotel capable of accommodating the different needs of each guest in comfort.
From the sweet to the savory section, our breakfast buffet offers fresh and natural foods, with quality ingredients from the territory, to be enjoyed in the internal room or in the outdoor area near the pool. A healthy and balanced breakfast where you can diversify the foods with creativity and balance.
“Salentu: sun, sea and ientu (wind)”: there is so much truth in this ancient way of saying that, however, it does not exhaust the richness of this marvelous territory. In fact, in addition to the most beautiful beaches of the Ionian and the suggestive inlets of the Adriatic which are located a short distance from the tobacco factory, the nearby villages of Castro, Specchia, Ugento, Tricase and Santa Maria di Leuca are not to be missed. Going a little further, Lecce, Otranto, Gallipoli, extraordinary cities of art and culture, deserve a visit for a whole day or even for a few hours.
At the end of the 40s, our legendary Nonna Tetta had worked at the tobacco factory before emigrating to the North of Italy, where we live during the year.
The love for this land and for the values handed down by our grandmother moved us to recover the historic building that housed the tobacco factory of Gagliano del Capo and to use it as a place of hospitality and conviviality.
Thus was born the Tabacchificio Hotel, made of materials and colors that evoke tobacco and Salento, made alive by a warm and familiar welcome.
We, Paola and Antonella believe that true hospitality means beautiful rooms, cleanliness and special service and those little touches of family atmosphere that make the difference in a vacation.
